This Easter it’s all about medieval heraldry at the Visitor Centre.
Come and “Build a Boar” over the Easter weekend (Friday 19th – Monday 22nd April), when you can help us re-create King Richard III’s full coat of arms out of LEGO – featuring two HUGE white boars.
Throughout the Easter holidays (13th – 28th April) you can explore your creative side with heraldic craft activities and make your own battle shield and tabard.
There’s also a Shield Trail for younger visitors to follow around the Visitor Centre, with a special prize for everyone who completes it.
You can also transform yourself into a princess or a knight or even a king with our dressing up box – don’t forget to snap a selfie to share with friends.
And if that wasn’t enough to keep everyone busy for a couple of hours, there’s the award-winning exhibition to explore – find out almost everything there is to know about King Richard III – his life, death and the discovery and identification of his remains. No visit is complete without seeing the actual place where the king’s remains lay undiscovered in a car park for over 500 years.
The heraldry theme can be experienced in our White Boar Cafe, with heraldic shield biscuits to decorate (a small additional cost), along with lots of tasty Easter treats and even some very special LEGO cupcakes over the Easter weekend!
Our Easter activities are included in the price of admission to the Visitor Centre and, once purchased, the tickets can be used for unlimited visits for a whole year.
During the school holidays, the Visitor Centre is open until 5pm every day (4pm on Sundays)
