Planning your visit
Our educational visits are available all year round, however we encourage groups to book as early as possible to ensure you visit on the day of your choice.
Our new and improved Discovery pack will help your class navigate their way around the exhibition and find the key facts about Richard III. Our new Discovery packs are included in the price of your visit and will be supplied along with clipboards and pencils on arrival.
Download our Teachers Info Pack to help you plan your visit.

King Richard III Visitor Centre
4A St Martin’s
Once you have a provisional or confirmed booking with us, you can book a free familiarisation visit. This is free for the teachers who will be leading your group on the day of your visit. We recommend you download and read our school visit information to make sure you get the most out of your visit.
Payment can be made by cheque, credit or debit card in advance of your visit, or on the day. We can invoice UK organisations after your visit.
On arrival you will need to confirm the total amount of pupils and accompanying adults in the group. If you are being invoiced after your visit, these are the numbers which we will use to raise the invoice. If you are paying on arrival, please ensure that you allow an extra five minutes for the process of payment.
If you haven’t already made lunch arrangements, the Visitor Centre does have a room which can be booked by schools. However this space is in high demand, so we recommend that you check availability with us as soon as possible. Alternatively, the Cathedral Gardens are immediately opposite the Visitor Centre and are free to use for picnics.
We welcome visits from all groups and can provide handling artefacts to help make the experience more accessible. Please do contact us on 0116 229 4132 if you’d like to bring an SEN group and we’ll plan a visit to suit your specific needs. Carers are entitled to free admission.
