Later this month we welcome Robert Fripp to the Visitor Centre to talk about his play, Dark Sovereign and how he tackled the writing of a new version of the life and reign of King Richard III in response to Shakespeare’s Richard III.

Written entirely in English as it was available at the time of Shakespeare, Dark Sovereign tells the tale of King Richard III’s life and reign. An “exercise in modern dramatised journalism”, Robert’s response to Shakespeare’s Richard III “seeks to explain, not exonerate; to define, not denounce”.

Anyone interested in the life of King Richard III, the reception of Shakespeare’s Richard III by contemporary and modern audiences, and the English language at the time of Shakespeare will enjoy this talk.

The talk takes place on Tuesday 30 July at 6:30pm and tickets cost £4.00. You can book online here.
