NEW FOR 2019 is our summer science club!
Over six weeks, we will be carrying out experiments, analysing results and drawing conclusions from a range of subjects including DNA and the science of slime.
Science Club will take place on Tuesdays throughout the summer holiday:
23rd & 30th July
6th, 13th, 20th & 27th August
Suitable for 7 – 11 year olds, each session will start at 10am and finish at 12:30pm each day and parents/guardians can drop their budding scientists off at the Visitor Centre and return to collect them later. Our session leader is a fully DBS checked scientist.
The sessions cost £10 per child and must be booked and paid for in advance. A lab coat, mid-morning snack and drink will be provided.
Our Science Club will cover the following subjects:
‘The Science of DNA’
Extract DNA from a banana and make your own DNA bracelet.
‘The Science of Baking’
Bake your own loaf of bread and find out how yeast works.
‘The Science of Energy’
Explore energy with our partners at Octopus Energy.
‘The Science of Slime’

‘The Science of Forensics’
Become a detective and explore forensics and codebreaking.
‘The Science of Archaeology’
