The Visitor Centre team are celebrating after being named as Best Museum at the Group Leisure and Travel Awards at a glittering ceremony in Birmingham last night.
The prestigious awards are voted for by group travel organisers and recognise the very best attractions, travel trade companies and tourism providers. The Visitor Centre was shortlisted alongside stiff competition, with the British Museum, National Railway Museum and Postal Museum, which makes the win even more significant for the team.
Iain Gordon, Visitor Centre Director commented: “We are so thrilled that the Visitor Centre has been named as Best Museum.
“Being up against some very strong, world-famous venues we were surprised but obviously very proud to win. Group travel is a highly competitive market with so many great attractions and destinations in competition with each other.
“We have worked hard over the last four years to bring group travel business to the Visitor Centre and to Leicester and winning this award is testament to the hard work of the team.”
