Nicola White, Senior Teacher at Whissendine CE Primary School developed a series of sessions with the support of our Learning team for you to access.
The sessions deliver the KS2 Local History module through the story of King Richard III. They are organised into three sections:
1. ‘Dynasty’ which explores Richard’s life
Richard III – Dynasty Session 1

Richard III – Dynasty Session 3
Richard III – Dynasty Session 4
Richard III – Dynasty Session 5
2. ‘Death’ covering the Battle of Bosworth
Richard III – Death Session 1
3. ‘Discovery’ featuring the Greyfriars dig and subsequent analysis of the remains.
Richard III – Discovery Session 1
Richard III – Discovery Session 2
Richard III – Discovery Session 3
Richard III – Discovery Session 4
There is also an overall Richard III Knowledge Organiser for pupils.
These resources are available for any teachers wishing to use them to deliver remote learning sessions.
The King Richard III Visitor Centre would like to thank Nicola and Whissendine CE Primary School for their generosity in making these resources available.
If you have any questions on teaching Richard III, please do get in touch with us by email.
Whilst we can provide resources and answer any questions you might have, nothing beats looking down through the glass floor into the actual gravesite where Richard’s remains were found. Our schools booking team are back in the office Monday to Friday, from 9am – 5pm – please email or call on 0116 454 5914 to book your visit now.
