A day for home educating families to find out about King Richard III.

We offer activities suitable for children aged 7 to 11. Younger children will need support with some activities, and children of all ages are welcome. Activities link to the KS2 curriculum for History. Facilitated sessions take place at fixed times, for the rest of your day you are free to explore the exhibition and the self-led activities, and take breaks whenever you need to.

We invite children with SEND needs to see the SEND Relaxed Programme itinerary, which has facilitated sessions in the afternoon.

  • Under-fives free

Programme:

10am – 12noon Facilitated activities run by our Learning team:

  • Archaeology workshop
  • Richard III – Good King or Bad King? – you decide

Lunch break – you are welcome to have lunch off site, and return in the afternoon, or to visit our Café.

After lunch – you are free to explore the Exhibition and these self-led activities:

  • Explore the exhibition with our Discovery Pack
  • Visit the craft station in our Cafe
  • Download and play the free ‘Lost in Time’ game on a mobile phone or device
